BACKGROUND
Kylee is an associate attorney working with the personal injury team at SW&L Attorneys. Kylee is passionate about helping individuals seek justice following the worst moments of their life.
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Kylee is a trial lawyer at heart. Since joining SW&L Attorneys in 2022, Kylee has tried numerous cases to juries throughout North Dakota. Prior to joining SW&L Attorneys, Kylee worked at a law firm in Fargo, North Dakota between her second and third years of law school. During her undergraduate education and following earning her bachelor’s degree, Kylee worked as a title officer at a title company in Fargo, North Dakota.
EDUCATION HISTORY
Kylee earned her Bachelor of Science magna cum laude degree in Paralegal with emphases in litigation and transactions from Minnesota State University Moorhead in December of 2016.
Following a few years of work as a title officer, Kylee went on to attend the University of North Dakota School of Law. While attending UND Law, Kylee earned an externship placement working in the chambers of three federal judges in the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. Kylee also externed with a hospital system’s Legal and Privacy Department. Additionally, Kylee was the Co-Symposium Editor for the North Dakota Law Review, executive officer for Law Women’s Caucus, and served as a teaching assistant for Professor Jennifer Cook’s lawyering skills class. In her time at UND Law, Kylee received the highest grade in the following courses: Employment Discrimination, Civil Pre-Trial Practice, Health Law, and Business Associations I. Kylee was accepted into the Order of the Coif (awarded to the top 10% of the graduating class) and graduated magna cum laude in May 2022.
PERSONAL BACKGROUND
Kylee was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and grew up in the small town of McIntosh, Minnesota. In her spare time, you can usually find Kylee reading, trying out a new workout program, walking and running on an outdoor trail, or spending time at the lake with her family and friends.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Kylee loves to support a good cause however she can. In law school, Kylee enrolled in the course Social Justice Lawyering where she and her classmates worked to craft a white paper assisting the Fargo-Moorhead Coalition to End Homelessness. Kylee has also spent her time volunteering at Feed My Starving Children, and the Jeremiah Program, and bell-ringing for the Salvation Army.
